Human Resources Associate Internship Program - Summer 2020
How much breadth and variety can you expect from a career in human resources? A lot more than you might imagine! At Northwell Health, the HR team impacts an organization far beyond recruiting and benefits. We're New York State’s largest private employer and healthcare provider and we employ more than 70,000 team members across Long Island, New York City, Staten Island, and Westchester. These incredible contributors are supported personally and professionally by our more than 550 HR team members. We empower them, help equip them, see to their development and help them reach the levels of performance they strive for, while also ensuring that they feel valued for what they do and who they are.
As a Human Resources Associate Intern at Northwell Health, you will have the opportunity to experience the inner workings of a best-in-class HR team through real, hands-on project work. During your 10-week paid summer internship, you will participate in two separate, five-week rotations. The first will be within a hospital or ambulatory HR department where you'll see just how much we do to bring out the best in our teams. The second rotation will be within a corporate HR Center of Excellence which will provide you exposure to both generalist and specialist careers.
Rotations in Corporate may include but are not limited to:
- Human Resources Information Technology
- Labor Employee Relations
- Talent Acquisition
- Talent Management
- Total Rewards
- Employee Engagement
At the conclusion of the program, you and fellow Associates will present a Capstone project about the summer experience to the HR leadership and senior leadership team. You'll also be encouraged to interview for full-time opportunities post-graduation.
